Marquis Amonte King (born December 12, 1992),[2] better known by his stage name Shy Glizzy, is an American rapper from Southeast, Washington, D.C.[3]

Shy Glizzy was born Marquis Amonte King on December 12, 1992, at Greater Southeast Customs Hospital and grew upward on 37th St., nearly Fort Dupont Park, in Southeast Washington, D.C.[2] His father was shot and killed at 19 years onetime ,[four] earlier Shy's first birthday. He grew upwards in a household with his female parent, grandmother, and his younger brother, three Glizzy. At historic period 9, he was arrested for petty larceny.[2] At age 16, he was arrested for a robbery and spent fourteen months in juvenile detention,[5] where he likewise earned his GED.[4]

In 2018, Shy Glizzy released his debut studio album, Fully Loaded, on October 18, which included guest appearances from YoungBoy Never Broke Over again, Lil Uzi Vert, Young Thug, Gunna, and Rick Ross.[30] The album received positive reviews[31] [32] and peaked at number 35 on the U.s. Billboard 200, selling 14,446 album-equivalent units in the first week.[33] It was announced that Glizzy volition embark on nationwide tour with Atlanta rapper Gunna on his Drip or Drown 2 tour.

In an April interview with HipHopDX's Daniela Evgenivna, Glizzy announced he would be releasing his second studio album titled Covered 'Northward Blood on April xix.[34] He described the album every bit being more than personal than the characteristic packed Fully Loaded stating "Information technology'south a really deep album.
